Internet, Phone, TV

For a number of reasons, getting the Direct TV Service has been both a frustration and a regret for me and my husband. Here are some:

  • We have had problems with our cable TV provider since the one-year promotional offer we signed up for ended; problems with their billing system, to be specific.
  • The telemarketer (slash customer service representative) from Direct TV that my husband spoke to was Filipino and was so good at his job. He let us in on all the offers: Filipino channels, free ShowTime and better rates.
  • After my husband did all the research, service-price comparison, and made the "final-decision" phone call, what we got in response is a note at the door left by a technician that said we can't have Direct TV System installed because our patio is facing the wrong direction.
  • I still constantly receive calls from AT&T which is Direct TV's partner in internet/TV service even after we (some CSR & I) have established before that our area is not in their service coverage yet.
  • Since AT&T and Direct TV bring service together, there's an iPhone app that is capable of controlling the DVR. I could have had that...
  • And lastly, (also the worst reason) the neighbor staying right in front of our assigned parking space flaunts their Direct TV satellite dish in their patio. And it never fails to remind us of all the great deals we're missing out on because of the geographic position of our apartment. Argh!
